Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized plans to promote independence, socialization, and community integration.
  2. Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and behavioral interventions.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  4. Monitor and report changes in client behavior, medical status, and other relevant information.
  5. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  6. Assist with household management, meal preparation, and other domestic duties.
  7. Ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Residential Program Manager.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  2. At least two years of experience in human services, preferably in a residential setting.
  3. Valid CT driver's license and good driving record required.
  4. Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds and perform other physical demands of the job.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
