Job Summary

The Staff Development Specialist is a key member of the MSS team, responsible for creating, managing, and implementing training and development opportunities for program staff. This role involves providing in-person and virtual training opportunities, as well as creating training materials that cater to the specific needs of the individuals served by MSS programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs that meet the needs of MSS staff, including onboarding, eLearning, first aid/CPR, medication administration, positive support rule, cultural competence, and person-centered services.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to track online training requirements and completion for staff, and assign annual training in the online training system.
  • Provide support and training to program leadership to develop curriculum and training for their specific needs.
  • Act as a liaison with other agencies and organizations to promote the interests of MSS.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4-6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to work independently and cooperatively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Experience providing training to groups and individuals, preferably in a 245D licensed program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, with experience using PowerPoint for presenting training.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability as determined by our insurance carrier.
  • Ability to pass background checks as required by agency policy, including a Department of Human Services Background check.

  • Hourly/non-exempt position with a wage rate between $24 and $26/hour depending on experience.
