Role Overview: As a Plant Maintenance Specialist, your responsibilities will include maintaining various mechanical systems and equipment to ensure their optimal performance while adhering to PSM and GMP regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Activities: Execute corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance tasks; troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems; procure necessary supplies and tools.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain and lubricate pumping systems; apply mechanical integrity principles; interpret blueprints and diagrams; operate and assess machinery and equipment.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct pre-job safety assessments; comply with PSM and GMP standards; ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Inspection and Diagnosis: Examine facilities and equipment through visual checks, gauges, meters, and testing devices; identify malfunctions and evaluate repaired equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to accomplish tasks; document maintenance activities and outcomes; assist with related assignments as needed.
  • Material Handling: Lift and transport heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs; ascend steps as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, and stoop for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to climb steps as necessary.

Other Requirements:

  • Dependable transportation.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and background investigation.
  • Consistent attendance and a positive demeanor.

Work Conditions:

  • Exposure to heat, humidity, and unpleasant odors.
  • Possibility of working in adverse weather conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, HVAC, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of PSM and GMP standards and mechanical integrity concepts.
  • Experience with pump refurbishments and mechanical seal adjustments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a 2-year technical degree is preferred.
  • Five years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Pump Mechanic, or Refrigeration Mechanic; two years as an industrial electrician is advantageous.
  • NCCER certification or equivalent as a Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic, Electrician, or other skilled trades is preferred.
