The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Logistics Account Manager with the daily operational tasks to ensure that client requirements are met with precision and efficiency.
This position involves maintaining continuous communication with the Logistics Account Manager, Customer Service Representatives, and clients to keep them updated with essential information.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service and act as an effective intermediary between the Account Management and Carrier Management teams.
This role entails handling calls, overseeing shipments, accepting tenders from relevant Transportation Management Systems (TMS), inputting tenders into our internal TMS, scheduling all pick-up and delivery appointments, and accurately documenting information throughout the workday.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure that customer business requirements are fulfilled promptly and efficiently. Work closely with your Logistics Account Manager to effectively manage team members and communication channels across all shifts (including shift scheduling and staffing). Assist the Logistics Account Manager in achieving optimal profitability levels for assigned accounts. Partner with the Carrier Management team to ensure that selected carriers adhere to client policies, procedures, and service standards.Hold the Carrier Management team accountable for pricing based on market trends (utilizing various external pricing and reporting tools). Ensure accurate data entry into internal systems such as our TMS, Excel, and workflow checklists.
Serve as the lead Logistics Account Manager for at least a cumulative four weeks during the year as needed for coverage during absences.
Maintain strong customer relationships through high levels of satisfaction and effective communication.Skills and Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of one year of relevant industry experience is preferred, with knowledge in Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight, third-party logistics (3PL), shipping, and related technologies (TMS, CMS, etc.).
Proficient computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
