About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is partnering with Adelphi Medical Staffing to find a qualified Psychiatry NP in a dynamic environment. We are seeking a skilled Autonomous psychiatric nurse-practitioner (PMHNP) to work at a facility in Petersburg, Virginia.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will provide virtual psychiatric services to adolescents and children and conduct primary care screenings as needed at multiple clinics. This is a contract position with a shift schedule of 1 day (7 or 8 hours) per week.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to agency staff about clinical and medical services.
  • Conduct assessments/evaluations of psychiatric illnesses.
  • Monitor client's response to treatment, including medication side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Document response to treatment; enter orders for diagnostic tests, medications, and other therapies.
  • Complete prior authorizations and paperwork as requested.
  • Timely completion of medical record documentation in accordance with state regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Virginia with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Autonomous Practice designation issued by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
  • Must possess and maintain prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • BLS.
  • DEA License.
  • Valid VA Driver's License.

  • Demonstrated experience in community mental health with persons with serious and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
