Overview:
Cedar Point is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a highly technical and professional position that requires expertise in project management, network design, implementation, security maintenance, and overall knowledge of Client/Server, network, hardware, database, and software integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams, vendors, and end users on small to large complexity projects, providing project costs, design concepts, or changes, and evaluating current or emerging technologies.
- Assist in the development of changes and modifications of procedures regarding configuration of vital computing equipment, participate in audits to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and environment security.
- Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, software developers, users, and management to select appropriate design solutions or to ensure the compatibility of system components, maintaining AD for efficiency and security.
- Enforce, monitor, and remedy security to meet PCI/DSS, Privacy, and HIPAA requirements, using and setting standards for secure protocols like SSH, HTTP, and SSL.
- Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, servers, virtualization technology, and related network equipment, creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Enforce licensing agreements, assist with network security, and perform LAN/WAN auditing as directed by senior systems engineers, configure and maintain various physical security components such as IP cameras, access control systems, and turnstiles.
- Monitor use of computer systems to ensure efficient utilization, identify inadequate or inefficient systems, bottlenecks, performance problems, and suggest alternatives to reduce costs or increase efficiencies.
- Perform installation and maintenance of all network servers, supervise the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all desktop, laptop, and notebook computers, implementing in accordance with best practice, high availability, reliability, performance, and accepted security standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree / vocational or technical school degree.
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- TCP/IP, routing protocols, layer 2 and layer 3 devices, etc.
- Microsoft, CompTIA, or other IT certification preferred.
