Become a part of our dedicated team of skilled Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who deliver healthcare services to our Veterans at the Medical Disability Examinations facility.
- Employment Type: Part Time
- Salary: This is a salaried role, compensated bi-weekly.
- Work Schedule: Part Time, 3 days a week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Qualifications and Skills: The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant must possess the following qualifications:
- Maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license throughout employment.
- Physician Assistants must hold an active NCCPA certification and maintain it during employment.
- Possess a master's degree or have successfully completed an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Certification: Hold an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and a readiness to adapt to evolving situations.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- All on-site personnel must be fully vaccinated in accordance with CDC and state guidelines.
- Prior experience with VA or compensation examinations is advantageous but not mandatory.
Role Summary:
- Evaluate relevant medical history documentation and conduct one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension examinations for veterans.
- The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will document responses during the examination using web-based forms; all records will be maintained electronically. Completed evaluations are forwarded to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determination.
- Standard evaluations encompass musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory assessments.
- Additional tests (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be requested and will be performed on-site or in proximity.
