Job Summary

GE is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and numerically controlled machine tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise electrical and mechanical tolerances.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
  • Meet quality and productivity standards, and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline OR High School Diploma / GED with a Journeyman's card with completion of a Machining apprentice program.
  • Minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional weekend shifts.
  • Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
  • Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test and submit to technical interview.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Able to use, read, and understand measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of common PC tools, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Reading comprehension; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Able to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions.
  • Able to work with computerized shop floor tools to include, but not limited to: vouchering systems, on-line quality programs, and payroll management tools.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay for this position is $34.27 per hour with a $3.35 per hour transition adder. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. This position is eligible for a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus.
