Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general diagnostic radiological procedures, ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety.
  • Ensure patient identity and correct procedure for diagnostic testing, as outlined in the physician order and per regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with patient care, positioning patients for accurate testing, and coordinating patient requirements during diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures and utilize effective PPE for each patient.
  • Apply radiation safety practices, such as the ALARA model, to minimize exposure and provide adequate shielding.
  • Ensure Infection Control procedures and HIPAA compliance.
  • Empathize with patients and their support systems, expressing compassion and understanding for their situation.
  • Engage in caring behaviors, taking conscious ownership for work and deliberate actions regarding interactions with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Assume responsibility for ancillary tasks, such as documentation of charges, ordering of supplies, and maintaining department records.
  • Monitor patients, diagnostic procedures, and equipment, making adjustments to ensure optimal results.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of California.
  • Fluoroscopy license/certification.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification.
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Customer service skills.
  • One (1) year recent experience in an acute care facility preferred.
