The Tax Advisory Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the Tax Advisory and Technical Accounting engagement work plans.

As a leader within Centri Business Consulting, LLC, the Tax Advisory Manager will exhibit exceptional project management capabilities, outstanding client service, and effective coaching to team members, fostering their technical and professional growth.


Core Responsibilities:


Provide expert advice to clients in both private and publicly traded companies regarding the tax implications of their business objectives. Evaluate alternative strategies and identify suitable methods for compliance with tax laws and regulations, as well as the accounting requirements of ASC 740.

Calculate tax provisions for global or domestic interim and year-end income tax provisions.
Identify complex tax issues that may arise during engagements and recognize opportunities for additional service offerings. Present these issues along with potential solutions to the Director.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax policy and law to ensure that the tax provision model accurately reflects the correct tax provision calculations.

Prepare reconciliations for tax accounts and assist in validating deferred taxes and tax payable balances.

Conduct research on complex tax and technical accounting topics to draft and review basic tax technical memos, as well as more intricate tax technical accounting memos that support key tax accounting positions and the tax implications of significant transactions.

Support internal teams by providing subject matter expertise and collaborating with financial statement auditors.
Lead client discussions to cultivate and develop strong relationships, ensuring exceptional client service. Manage project status and create project plans to ensure accurate completion at the deliverable level.
Responsible for understanding engagement economics, effectively leveraging the team, monitoring margins, scheduling, invoicing, and meeting deadlines.
Leadership responsibilities include fostering in-person connections with team members, peers, and senior leaders within the firm.
Oversee a managed book of $1,200,000 in revenue.
Support firm initiatives and development opportunities.
Work to establish relationships and promote collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, including ASC 740/FIN 48.
Experience with Federal R&D credits is preferred.
Ability to thrive in an environment with shifting priorities.
Interpersonal skills to effectively interact in a team setting and nurture client relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Understand the services provided by the firm, proactively seek opportunities to represent the firm, rapidly expand the client base, and enhance brand recognition across various markets.

Recognize learning opportunities by pursuing challenging assignments and demonstrating a strong desire to become an expert.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and knowledgeable in tax software.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.
Close to obtaining CPA Certification.

6+ years of relevant accounting experience; a combination of public accounting, corporate tax, or professional services experience is highly preferred.

3+ years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift items up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to travel up to 25%.
