Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team on a contractual basis. This role is particularly suited for professionals who are enthusiastic about assisting students in reaching their physical capabilities and have experience in delivering therapy services within educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify students' physical therapy needs.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's goals.
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students in school settings.
- Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' educational and functional objectives.
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed evaluations to assess students' needs and create personalized treatment strategies.
- Provide therapy services to students facing various physical challenges, including motor impairments and mobility issues.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapy goals into students' daily routines and academic activities.
- Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
- Educate school personnel and families on physical therapy techniques to support students' development both in and out of the classroom.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the formulation of comprehensive support plans for students.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure and certification as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with school-aged children and familiarity with the educational setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a caseload effectively, and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Knowledge of best practices in pediatric physical therapy and special education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a contract Physical Therapist in an educational environment.
- Specialized knowledge in areas such as developmental disorders, orthopedic conditions, or neurological impairments.
- Familiarity with various physical therapy assessment tools and technologies.
