Canyon View Medical Group Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients, visitors, and staff by performing maintenance and repairs at all facilities within Canyon View Medical Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to maintenance requests and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs, adjustments to locks, door hinges, heating-ventilation-air conditioning units, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Report mechanical malfunctions to the Facilities Manager for action.
  • Assist in construction, installation, repair and maintenance of clinic equipment and fixtures.
  • Conduct routine audits of the facility to evaluate support systems and make recommendations for repairs and improvements.
Technical Skills:
  • Carpentry: Perform basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, office furniture, roofs, and shelves.
  • Electrical: Perform basic electrical installation and repair work in wiring switches, outlets, plugs, cables, power circuits and appliances; repair lighting systems; inspect electrical systems for unsafe conditions.
  • Plumbing/Painting: Identify and perform basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks, open clogged lines and drains; replace washers and other minor parts; apply and prepare various surfaces for painting.
Requirements:
  • Prior work experience in buildings and facilities maintenance.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to drive an automobile.
  • Ability to work independently and recognize issues, bring to management's attention with recommended solutions with costs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of methods used in maintenance including basic skills of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, grounds-keeping, electrical wiring, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, read blueprints, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, maintain work logs and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those in the course of work assignments.
