Psychiatrist/Psychiatric MD, DO, PA, or NP

Job Summary:
West Hawaii Community Health Center is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist/Psychiatric MD, DO, PA, or NP to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and support to Behavioral Health providers and primary care physicians to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions, including medication management and therapy.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments and evaluations to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and address patient needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on mental health topics and treatment options.
  • Stay current with best practices and evidence-based treatments in psychiatry and mental health.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the Behavioral Health department.

Requirements:

  • Current Hawaii State Medical License or APRN License with Prescriptive Authority.
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred.
  • Previous experience in a community health center environment and/or working with low-income, culturally diverse populations desirable.

Working Conditions:
The work environment is a community health center with a moderate noise level. The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
