Role Responsibilities

The Project Team Lead will be responsible for establishing and managing a proficient engineering team to support a large program or multiple smaller initiatives within our power and energy management and aircraft electrification sectors. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to established cost, schedule, and technical requirements as outlined in the program plan.

The PTL will coordinate and oversee engineering activities on assigned programs, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and technical standards while upholding established engineering practices to fulfill program commitments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring adherence to approved plans by participating in program control meetings, design reviews, and auditing processes, while maintaining regular communication with cost account managers.
  • Reviewing all technical modifications to requirements and coordinating the analysis of their impact on schedule and budget, ensuring consistent design integrity.
  • Monitoring engineering metrics on the program and providing technical support to the program manager.
  • Managing Design to Cost (DTC) initiatives and cost reduction efforts in collaboration with power and energy management experts.
  • Collaborating with functional engineering organizations to ensure adequate staffing and execution of programs, while approving engineering cost account manager assignments.
  • Assessing all changes to the engineering cost, schedule, technical, and risk baselines.
  • Working with Performance Excellence to customize applicable processes for projects and programs, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards.

This position will involve a hybrid work format, balancing onsite and remote work.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in Engineering Management or Project Leadership.
  • Proven experience leading an engineering team of five or more members.

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to meet cost, schedule, and customer objectives.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills for engineering teams.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in Controls engineering management or project leadership.
  • Experience leading projects in power and energy management or aircraft electrification.
  • Familiarity with IR&D development and production programs.
  • Experience managing larger engineering teams of twenty or more.
  • Background in leading safety-critical projects.
  • Experience managing dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams.

The full-time salary range for this position is competitive and based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
