Job Summary:

The City of Aventura FL is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of our public works infrastructure and landscape. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising contractors, coordinating projects, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan and prioritize work to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures for maintaining public works infrastructure and landscape.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of public works infrastructure and landscape to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance or supervisory role.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches and maps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Working Conditions:

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The position will also require the ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights.
