Maintenance Supervisor

The Plant Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this individual will oversee a team of maintenance personnel, including mechanics, electricians, and other technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise maintenance personnel in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
- Schedule and assign tasks to maintenance personnel, ensuring timely completion of work orders and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and supplier recommendations.
- Provide leadership and support to maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, using test equipment and collaborating with other maintenance workers.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
- Oversee the maintenance of HVAC, chillers, boilers, air compressors, pumps, and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, steam, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Identify and address equipment and process deficiencies, working with other operational team members to implement improvements.
- Manage spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment inventories, ensuring timely reordering and minimizing downtime.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices for maintenance supplies and services.
- Coordinate and facilitate employee development, providing personal counseling, training, and performance reviews.
- Maintain a safe working environment, instructing employees on good safety habits and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Initiate and participate in meetings to drive continuous improvement in tooling, work habits, and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to ensure production capabilities and meet production and delivery deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Previous technical supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to manage and lead a team.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems with electronic controls and five years of electrical experience with manufacturing equipment.
- Five years of mechanical experience with manufacturing equipment and digital controls troubleshooting experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read specs and prints.
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as Word and Excel.
