Position: Fleet Maintenance Technician

Salary: $37.30 Hourly

Grade: 11

Overview:

Riverton City is in search of a proficient Fleet Maintenance Technician to work under the guidance of the Fleet Manager. This role involves conducting maintenance on municipal vehicles and equipment. Key responsibilities include executing maintenance strategies, tracking vehicle usage, and upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on municipal vehicles and equipment
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies
  • Oversee inventory and maintenance documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of budget plans
  • Coordinate the procurement of equipment
  • Conduct welding, parts replacement, and tune-ups
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs
  • Ensure smooth operations within the fleet department
  • Manage the sale of surplus equipment
  • Collaborate with the finance department for asset management
  • Install emergency lighting systems on vehicles
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred coursework in automotive and equipment mechanics
  • ASE certifications are a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in auto mechanics
  • Preferred experience of 3 years in Municipal Fleet Repair
  • Valid Utah Driver's License
  • CDL license is advantageous
  • Background checks and drug screenings are mandatory
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
