Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Planning and Installation: Plan layout, installation, and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment according to codes and standards.
  • Material Management: Minimize material waste, ensure future maintenance access, and maintain compliance with specifications and local codes.
  • Design and Implementation: Prepare sketches, follow diagrams, or blueprints to determine wiring and equipment locations.
  • Electrical Conduit Installation: Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using appropriate tools.
  • Wiring and Connection: Pull wiring through conduit with assistance from electrician helpers, splice wires, connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
  • Electrical Apparatus Installation: Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Electrical System Testing: Connect power cables and ground leads to equipment and other electrical utilization devices, test circuit continuity and safety of components using testing instruments.
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Observe functioning of installed equipment/systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments or replacement, repair faulty equipment or systems as needed.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman License/Certificate: Journeyman license/certificate or equivalent required.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Possession of all foreman skills with verifiable minimum experience and/or relevant certifications, licenses, or degrees, excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead multiple craft crews.
  • Electrical Experience: Extensive experience in electrical installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
  • Independence and Communication: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
