The Staff Attorney role is dedicated to delivering exceptional legal assistance in areas such as domestic violence, public benefits, elder law, tax aid, consumer rights, education, and housing matters. This position not only focuses on legal representation but also emphasizes the comprehensive needs of clients, tackling social and non-medical factors that hinder their recovery and reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation to clients in various civil matters.
- Address the holistic needs of clients, including social determinants affecting health and stability.
- Educate clients on their rights under the Family Medical Leave Act and other relevant laws.
- Assist clients in understanding job protections and post-treatment benefits.
Employment Type: Full Time
Qualifications: This role is ideal for attorneys who are licensed to practice in Alabama and have a strong commitment to serving low-income communities. Candidates from states with reciprocal agreements are also encouraged to apply. Excellent legal writing and communication skills are essential.
Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
