Job Title: Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team at Global 1st Flagship Company. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and survey moored vessels, equipment, and property for compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety and environmental compliance plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Program Elements.
  • Investigate near misses, accidents, and injuries, determine cause and mitigation, and report findings to Global Insurer and OSHA.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility, ships, and work processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with Global employees, leadership, and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to foster strong working relationships and meet contractual obligations.
  • Deliver timely, accurate reports and documentation to the Project Manager and corporate leadership.
  • Lead weekly briefings with the Project Manager on the status of ongoing and planned projects.
  • Represent the company professionally in all dealings with the COR, suppliers, subcontractors, and other government agencies.
  • Chair monthly Safety Committee meetings and enforce JHAs, especially related to PPE, through the Safety Supervisor and HAZMAT Technicians.
  • Provide clear, firm, and consistent leadership while fostering a team culture based on individual accountability, growth, safety, respect, integrity, and commitment.
Requirements:
  • A four-year college degree with at least three (3) years of experience managing safety and environmental compliance OR ten (10) years of ship safety and general industry standards, with at least five (5) years involving safety program management.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • A current driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the company's Vehicle Safety Manual.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in safety management within a maritime or ship-related environment.
Security Clearance:
  • Position requires a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
