Position: AWS Cloud Engineer

Venesco is seeking two qualified AWS Cloud Engineers with a Secret Clearance to contribute to the Army Neighborhood Watch (NBHDw) Project. The ideal candidates will possess the following expertise:

Role Summary:
The AWS Cloud Engineer will be tasked with the design, deployment, and management of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) cloud environments utilizing AWS technologies. This position will involve transitioning on-premise systems to the cloud, automating cloud operations, and enhancing cloud infrastructure for optimal performance and security.

Key Duties:

  • Design and Architecture: Create and implement cloud architecture solutions leveraging AWS services.
  • Migration: Strategize and carry out the migration of on-premise systems to the AWS cloud.
  • Automation: Streamline cloud processes to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
  • Optimization: Regularly assess and refine cloud infrastructure for improved performance, cost-effectiveness, and security.
  • Collaboration: Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to develop service catalogs and maintain architectural frameworks.
  • Security: Ensure cloud environments are secure and adhere to industry standards and best practices in collaboration with Infrastructure teams.
  • Support: Offer technical support and advice to other teams and stakeholders regarding cloud solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in cloud computing, particularly with AWS. Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture.
    • Experience in cloud deployment methodologies.
    • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
