Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Weight Control Engineer to join our team at Bollinger Shipyards in Metairie, LA. The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in vessel design development, including structural and auxiliary systems design for various marine crafts.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and manage vessel designs, including structural and auxiliary systems.
- Oversee and control weight changes throughout the vessel's lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards, including ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, and IMO.
- Communicate effectively and provide leadership within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in vessel design and development.
- Familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO, and other applicable regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, and Rhino software is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict schedules.
