Location: Metairie, LA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Weight Control Engineer to join our team at Bollinger Shipyards in Metairie, LA. The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in vessel design development, including structural and auxiliary systems design for various marine crafts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage vessel designs, including structural and auxiliary systems.
  • Oversee and control weight changes throughout the vessel's lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards, including ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, and IMO.
  • Communicate effectively and provide leadership within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in vessel design and development.
  • Familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO, and other applicable regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, and Rhino software is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict schedules.
