We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Texas Oncology. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients with cancer, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines.
- Assess patient health status, collect and record nursing assessment and interventions, and report results to the provider.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, educate patients and families on treatment options and self-care techniques, and provide emotional support and counseling.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including scheduling consultations, pre-testing, and diagnostic tests or procedures.
- Manage patient medication refill requests, assist physicians with exams and procedures, and maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
- Participate in professional development activities, maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing, and adhere to US Oncology Compliance Program and Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least one year of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
