About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) nurse to join our team at Good Samaritan Society - Sioux Falls Village. This is a travel LPN position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients who require extended hospitalization due to complex medical conditions or recovery from acute illness or surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care and Monitoring: Provide specialized care to patients with chronic, serious conditions, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient progress.
  • Wound and Skin Care: Assist with wound care and dressing changes, monitor for signs of infection, and perform routine skin assessments to prevent pressure ulcers.
  • Respiratory Support: Monitor respiratory function, assist with suctioning and maintaining airway patency, and collaborate with respiratory therapists to adjust equipment settings as needed.
  • Rehabilitation and Mobility: Assist patients with mobility, support physical therapy exercises, and encourage participation in rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient's condition.
  • Collaborating with Healthcare Team: Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to implement and adjust care plans, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
