Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality digital images of patients for interpretation by physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Confirm patient identity and check in patients, schedule appointments, and create radiology modules.
  • Prepare patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile technique, position patients for radiologic examination, and select exposure factors.
  • Take exposure and process images, practice radiation protection, and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures.
  • Record pertinent information on requisitions, directly enter medication, laboratory, and/or radiology orders into the electronic medical record, and respond to patient emergencies as needed.
  • Clean work areas, examination rooms, and equipment as needed, perform limited maintenance of equipment, and perform image-management duties within the PACS system and NextGen.
  • Document patient information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure continuity of high-quality healthcare, check out duties, and complete forms in accordance with office and IHA protocols.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians, ensure timely and courteous follow-up regarding patient questions, and maintain compliance with government and reimburser requirements and with clinic standards of care.
  • Provide support to clinical staff and providers as needed, perform other duties as assigned, and work within the scope of Radiology Technology certification/registration/licensure.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and valid CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of patient care/radiology procedures and organizational policies related to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to practice radiation protection, proficient in medical terminology, and able to perform mathematical calculations needed during the course of performing essential job duties.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette, and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations, including IHA staff, providers, patients, family members, hospital and radiology staff, Non-IHA providers and staff.
  • Ability to cross-train in other areas of practice in order to achieve smooth flow of all operations, good organizational and time management skills, and ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner, knowledge of the compliance aspects of clinical care and patient privacy, and best practices in medical office operations.
