Job Title: Lumber Yard Supervisor

Compensation: Salary range from $84,872 to $106,090 annually based on experience, plus profit sharing opportunities.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Position Overview: The Lumber Yard Supervisor is tasked with embodying the company's FACE values, mission, and vision to effectively lead their team and achieve the yard's objectives. This role emphasizes servant leadership and team management.

The supervisor is also responsible for executing operational strategies and objectives to meet the yard's targets. Active community involvement, personal development, and continuous improvement as a leader are expected.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Oversee and guide the workforce at the lumber yard and within the precut areas.
  • Collaborate with the Truss and Millwork Managers on all facility-related activities.
  • Identify and address personnel needs at the yard.
  • Manage daily operations of employees from various departments assigned to your location.
  • Evaluate and promote necessary changes in policies and procedures related to yard operations.
  • Foster collaboration across all departments within PARR.
  • Support and adhere to PARR's brand standards.
  • Recognize improvement opportunities and take decisive, proactive actions.
  • Exhibit confidence and leadership qualities.
  • Encourage financial reporting and develop business acumen within the team.

Team Development:
  • Clearly communicate performance expectations to employees.
  • Assist in evaluating employee performance from other departments.
  • Maintain a well-rounded staff through cross-training and open communication.
  • Utilize the PARR University program to support training initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completion of new hire orientation and training schedules.
  • Foster a team-driven environment focused on common goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recognition to team members.
  • Encourage participation in decision-making processes.

Business Management:
  • Enforce company policies and achieve annual profit goals for the yard.
  • Implement merchandising programs effectively.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and collaborate with sales and purchasing teams.
  • Train the yard team in inventory management processes.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual budget for the yard.
  • Establish professional relationships with customers and vendors.

Safety and Communication:
  • Conduct accident investigations and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

All hourly and salaried employees assigned to the location.
