Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic and collegial immigration practice. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to our attorneys in preparing and filing a broad range of immigrant and non-immigrant petitions and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of complex immigration petitions and applications, including O-1 and I-140 Extraordinary Ability/Outstanding Researcher/National Interest Waiver petitions.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and documents required for petition and application preparation.
- Enter, update, and maintain data in our immigration case management system.
- Manage a high-volume caseload and ensure timely completion of work.
- Track and manage critical deadlines.
- Run active cases workload and client NIV expiration reports in our case management system.
- Attend team meetings and participate in educational programs and seminars to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
- Enter and close time entries in our firm's time recording system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a preference for Journalism, Communication, or Creative Writing majors.
- Interest in pursuing business immigration as a career, with basic to intermediate knowledge or experience in the immigration practice area.
- Strong writing and analytical skills, with excellent prioritization and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment, with attention to detail and good independent judgment.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and work overtime as needed.
- Strong client-first work ethic, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel within the organization and with external clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate obtained through a paralegal studies program approved by the ABA or from an accredited college or university.
- One full year of law-related work experience under the supervision of a licensed attorney who has been a member of the State Bar of California for at least the three preceding years and who has signed a written declaration that the candidate is qualified to perform paralegal tasks.
- Certificate of completion from a paralegal program at, or a degree from, a postsecondary institution that requires the successful completion of a minimum of 24 semester, or equivalent, units in law-related courses.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $90,732.50. The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits.
