Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of our patients experiencing injuries or disease.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Physical Therapist in determining patient abilities and/or limitations in establishing treatment goals and in planning appropriate physical therapy treatment.
  • Complete documentation of patient status/progress for assigned patients and report observations of patient performance to Physical Therapist.
  • Provide age-related and culturally sensitive delivery of patient care services.
  • Collaborate with the patient, team members, and area staff during the rehabilitation process to ensure quality care.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress.
  • Assist in safe and efficient management and maintenance of the therapy program areas, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
  • One year of direct patient care experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required.
