Job Summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and assisting with medication distribution in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collects and documents patient data, including vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Performs Point of Care Testing and reports results.
  • Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse.
  • Provides personal hygiene services, including bathing, oral suctioning, and wound care.
  • Assists with feeding and ambulation.
  • Ensures patient safety and security in a correctional environment.
  • Distributes and documents medications, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95.
  • Maintains a safe and comfortable facility environment.
Requirements
  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit.
Work Environment

Work environment is located in a clean and safe medical facility within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped work space, and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort. Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required, including lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
