Job Summary

The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business within the Company's Underwriting Philosophy. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze new and renewal business within underwriting authority
  • Collect and analyze data prior to decision-making
  • Make decisions independently after obtaining appropriate input
  • Interpret and reconcile data points and underwriting tools
  • Present decisions to management and producers clearly and concisely
  • Provide direction to Underwriting Assistants or Associate Underwriters
  • Provide necessary training to others in the branch
  • Regularly attend and often lead policyholder presentations
  • Take an active lead in face-to-face meetings with agencies and/or clients
  • Coordinate growth of major producers with the marketing department
  • Manage underwriting territory and know profitable producers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience preferred
  • 3+ Years P&C underwriting experience required; preferably Agribusiness required
  • Full knowledge of P&C Agribusiness policy and underwriting rules
  • Understanding of Zenith's underwriting philosophy a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills required
  • Strong math and reading skills required
  • Computer literacy required
  • Valid Driver License in good standing

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this position is $89,911.08 to $112, Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
