About the Role

Lumicity is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the pre-construction process, responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and Interpret Project Documents

Thoroughly review blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to prepare comprehensive estimates for bidding construction projects.

Understand Project Requirements

Read and comprehend all project documents, drawings, qualifications, specifications, project manuals, schedules, and other relevant materials.

Estimate Costs and Materials

Prepare and estimate costs for all scopes of work, including curtainwall, storefront, storefront doors, glass partitions, glass doors, glass handrails, structural glass walls, metal panels, and other related materials.

Obtain Pricing and Quotes

Obtain pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for the project.

Develop Project Schedules

Assist the general contractor in creating adequate project schedule timeframes for our work.

Build Relationships

Develop and cultivate relationships with the construction industry, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Verify Contract Details

Verify that the scope and price of the contract match the bid proposal.

Provide Customer Support

Sell products and answer questions for all customers, providing exceptional customer service.

Perform Other Duties

Perform other duties as required to support the success of the project.

Collaborate with Teams

Work collaboratively with the Project Management Team and Field Operations to ensure project success.

Develop Proposals

Write proposals in a professional business format, clearly outlining project details and scope.

Run Project Meetings

Run kick-off meetings to project managers, ensuring a smooth start to the project.

Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Knowledge

Stay current with industry developments, including system fabrication and installation, structural calculations, glass industry terminology, and building codes.

Manage Priorities

Use your personal schedule to set daily and weekly priorities, ensuring timely completion of multiple bidding deadlines.

Attend Client Meetings

Attend presentation meetings to clients as required, providing clear and concise information about the project.

Produce Submittal Information

Understand and produce submittal information based on specified and estimated requirements.

Requirements
  • Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in storefront and glazing application, commercial construction background, and glass and framing systems.

Attention to Detail

Detail-oriented and able to work cross-departmentally as needed.

Customer Service

Customer service-oriented individual with experience in providing excellent service to internal departments and external customers.

Communication Skills

Effective and clear communicator, able to accurately and concisely speak and write to internal departments and external customers.

Time Management

Keen ability to manage time and multiple tasks at once.

Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
