Job Overview

At Soliant, we are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in a school setting near Palm Springs, California. This is a full-time or part-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct thorough assessments of students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, daily living skills, and other functional areas using standardized tools and observational techniques.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized therapy goals that align with students' IEPs, monitoring and adjusting goals as needed.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy to students individually or in small groups, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-regulation techniques, and assistive technology training.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to provide guidance on adapting classroom activities, materials, and environments to support students' needs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEP meetings, providing regular reports to parents and school administrators.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on best practices in school-based occupational therapy and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid state license in Occupational Therapy (OT) or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience: Previous experience working as an occupational therapist in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Certifications: Certification in pediatric therapy or school-based therapy is a plus.
