Position: Workers Compensation Claims Assistant

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist the claims team and perform various administrative tasks as per client requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and inputs new claims into the claims management system.
  • Documents and reviews notes/diaries in the claims management system as directed.
  • Handles payment processing.
  • Manages incoming mail; responsible for filing, faxing, and photocopying.
  • Prepares, reviews, and sends letters, reports, and forms.
  • Handles phone communications, schedules medical appointments, and provides customer service as needed.
  • Engages in additional projects as assigned, including generating and distributing computer reports.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Contributes to the organization's quality initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience: A minimum of six months in clerical or customer service roles, or a combination of education and experience is necessary.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
