Position: Workers Compensation Claims Assistant
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist the claims team and perform various administrative tasks as per client requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and inputs new claims into the claims management system.
- Documents and reviews notes/diaries in the claims management system as directed.
- Handles payment processing.
- Manages incoming mail; responsible for filing, faxing, and photocopying.
- Prepares, reviews, and sends letters, reports, and forms.
- Handles phone communications, schedules medical appointments, and provides customer service as needed.
- Engages in additional projects as assigned, including generating and distributing computer reports.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Contributes to the organization's quality initiatives.
Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience: A minimum of six months in clerical or customer service roles, or a combination of education and experience is necessary.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.

Physical: Proficient in computer keyboarding; travel may be required.
