Job Description / Essential Elements:

DUTIES: Under the supervision of the designated administrator, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist will perform a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to: maintaining cleanliness of the assigned site and grounds; ensuring the safety and security of the property; assisting visitors; inspecting facilities for hazards; and providing necessary services for assigned programs. Responsibilities also include opening and closing the building as required, keeping all areas neat and clean, maintaining windows, and safeguarding district property. The role requires prompt reporting of any damages or necessary repairs, assisting in inventory management of supplies, moving furniture and equipment as needed, performing minor repairs, and collaborating effectively with colleagues. This position may require day or night shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have completed at least the eighth grade or possess an equivalent qualification. A minimum of two years of custodial experience is required, along with familiarity working with diverse populations. Knowledge of modern cleaning techniques, relevant health and safety regulations, and effective communication skills are essential. The ability to manage time efficiently, make sound decisions, and demonstrate physical and emotional stamina is necessary for success in this role. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required. Selection criteria will consider training, skills, and previous experience, with seniority as a determining factor when qualifications are equal.
