Residential Therapist

We offer a unique and comprehensive approach to therapy and recovery for adolescents struggling with mental health, substance abuse, or behavior issues. Our California-based treatment centers provide a safe and supportive environment for teens and their families to heal and grow.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at one of our 6-bed teen residential treatment centers. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide supervision and support to up to 6 adolescents who are in residential treatment for 30-60 days. You will facilitate groups, engage in activities with clients, and maintain a constructive therapeutic community.

• Provide one-to-one support and supervision to clients struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues
• Establish positive and nurturing relationships with clients, within professional boundaries
• Maintain vigilance and awareness of the milieu while monitoring client behavior and safety
• Engage in activities with clients, such as hikes, equine therapy, surf therapy, and fitness groups
• Create a constructive therapeutic community in accordance with the Center's policies
• Conduct and facilitate psycho-education groups and recreational activities
• Perform crisis management and interventions as necessary
• Demonstrate model behaviors
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all shift activities
• Oversee and participate in meal times and assist clients with life skills

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old
• All schedules require working at least 1 weekend shift
