Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring manufactured products meet customer quality plans, ISO 9001 QMS, and regulatory agency requirements. This is achieved through inspection and testing of in-process and finished products, as well as incoming raw materials.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and release incoming raw materials, performing visual inspections and/or physical properties testing.
  • Perform first article inspections, in-process, and final inspections using inspection and testing equipment.
  • Communicate product quality issues and troubleshoot problems with other departments.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and work instructions.
  • Complete quality documentation and records data into logs and databases.
  • Handle non-conforming products and materials according to company procedures.
  • Participate in internal audits and supplier development, initiating preventive and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Recommend modifications to quality or production standards for optimum quality within equipment capabilities.
  • Set up and perform tests on materials or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Apply statistical process control to monitor processes and enter data into computer databases.
  • Represent the quality assurance department in daily operations meetings.
  • Train production personnel on new/revised product quality standards.
  • Conduct quality assessments at sub-contractor and/or Supplier sites (when required).
  • Maintain a clean workspace and adjacent areas.
Requirements

A minimum education of high school or equivalent, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, is required. Computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, are also necessary. An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred. Prior experience in quality inspection and/or manufacturing is desired, and an ASQ Certified Quality Technician certification is preferred.

Physical Demands

The ability to lift/push/pull/move up to 25lbs, sit, stand, walk, and bend is required. While performing duties, the employee may be exposed to loud noise levels and require protective gear such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

Estimated Salary: $52,500 per annum.
