Career Opportunity
The City of Williamsburg's Planning Division is in search of a skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Urban Planner.

This role entails overseeing and managing the processing of permits and applications within the Planning Division, which includes, but is not limited to, zoning changes, special use permits, and subdivision approvals.

Additionally, this position provides essential support to the Planning Commission and City Council, contributing to long-term planning objectives and initiatives. The Senior Urban Planner operates under the guidance of the Planning and Codes Compliance Director.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of advanced experience in urban planning, zoning, site plan evaluations, subdivisions, architectural assessments, and/or historic preservation; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Special Credentials:
Possession of, or the capability to obtain, membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners is required.
