We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Bus Operator to join our team at Transdev. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for providing reliable and efficient transportation services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Safely Transport Passengers: Ensure the safe transportation of staff and students of Georgia Southern University, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Operate Transit Buses: Drive one of several different transit buses or vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area within a daily assigned time schedule.
- Perform Pre/Post Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Assist Passengers: Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters.
- Communicate with Dispatch: Notify dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble.
- CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement: Must possess a valid CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interact with passengers and dispatch.
- Shift Work: Able to work shift hours and days assigned, including night shifts.
