Job Summary:

This role involves performing blood collection procedures, verifying order requests, and labeling specimens. The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood collection procedures and related tasks
  • Verify order requests and identifying information prior to drawing blood or collecting the specimen/kit
  • Label all specimens collected and deliver them to the appropriate processing area
  • Follow venipuncture procedures and maintain appropriate log sheets
  • Interact with patients warmly and professionally at check-in or when presenting to outpatient lab desks
  • Promote effective communication flow within and outside of the department

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Formal phlebotomy certification
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a team environment
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Technical proficiency; standard procedures, techniques, and common practices required
