About the Role:
Fluence is a global leader in delivering intelligent energy storage and optimization software for renewables and storage. As a Chief Battery Energy Storage System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in directing the engineering strategy for our battery energy storage systems (BESS).

About You:
We are seeking an experienced engineer with 15+ years of experience in battery systems, energy storage, or related fields. You should have a strong track record of leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, particularly in BESS or power systems.

Your Responsibilities:
As a Senior Energy Storage Systems Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the overall design and technical strategy for BESS, maintaining full responsibility for system-level architecture and integration.
  • Serving as the ultimate technical authority in Design Reviews, making decisions on design direction, performance criteria, and safety standards.
  • Working with Fluence's software team to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
  • Coordinating and aligning across the Enclosure, Systems and Battery engineering teams, overseeing Fluence's Chief Engineering office.
  • Directing integration of all BESS subsystems, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, thermal management, power conversion and battery technologies work together to optimize system performance.
  • Setting and enforcing Fluence's engineering standards across all engineering disciplines, ensuring that system architecture is scalable, efficient, and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Defining and approving key engineering decisions, ensuring that all design choices support long-term performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
