  • Reconciliation Expertise: Assist in reconciling large and intricate bank accounts.
  • Accounting Fundamentals: Demonstrate a solid understanding of journal entries, debits, and credits.
  • Reporting Duties: Contribute to monthly status reports, the monthly closing process, and the annual audit.
  • Financial Planning: Aid in the financial planning of the organization, including the preparation of annual budgets for designated departments and programs.
  • Grant Reporting: Prepare all necessary Grant Reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for federal, state, and local mental health grants and contracts.
  • Timeliness and Accuracy: Ensure reports are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile assigned grant financial reports with the general ledger.
  • Transaction Research: Assist in identifying and clearing transactions within the accounting software.
  • Cash Flow Management: Help prepare monthly Cash Flow Forecasts and Projections.

Additionally, the role includes maintaining cash management records, which encompass funds drawn and received, disbursements by source, deposits, and the classification of revenue according to funding sources.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Strong background in account reconciliations, the closing process, and general ledger management.
  • Experience in non-profit accounting is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Blackbaud or Sage Abila.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets.
