Historic Book and Artifact Preservation Specialist

Ladgov Corporation seeks a highly skilled Historic Book and Artifact Conservation Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough examinations of historic books and artifacts to identify deterioration and determine the most effective conservation methods.
• Develop and implement conservation treatments, including written documentation of examination, condition analysis, treatment proposal, and final treatment phases.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA and NIOSH guidelines, in laboratory operations.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in conservation or a related field, or equivalent experience through formal apprenticeship programs or professional recognition.
• Advanced knowledge of conservation theory, procedures, and techniques for the preservation of historic books and artifacts.
• Experience in high-resolution digital photography and proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information accurately and clearly.
• Strong understanding of professional standards in historic house museum operations.
