Job Summary
This position requires an individual with a strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a team environment. In a warehouse setting, the main priority is safety for you and your teammates. This role will involve driving around the warehouse, loading trucks, auditing, re-packing, and using machinery to complete orders for deliveries.
This class works under supervision to establish procedures for completing tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Unload returning trucks and prepare for the next day's operations.
- Load pallets according to delivery schedules.
- Operate the Tygard machine and replenish as needed.
- Inspect and examine stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Pick a minimum of cases daily and count stock items, recording data by voice command on a headset or cell phone.
- Operate and inspect powered industrial equipment in the warehouse.
- Inspect each bottle or can to ensure it meets AB standards for repacking.
- Create boxes using glue guns and label makers, placing cleaned product inside and preparing for the warehouse.
- Dispose of outdated beer and clean up spilled materials and cardboard.
- Place repacked material back into the warehouse for order picking.
- Stage product to support delivery and shipping operations.
- Verify outgoing product on pallets from pick sheets.
- Ensure pallets are built stable before leaving the warehouse.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling broken bottles.
- Monitor hours based on operations and avoid exceeding requested hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred; minimum 1 year of work experience in warehousing or manufacturing.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal shift hours to accommodate various employee schedules.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Strong team player with the ability to get along with coworkers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Demands
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
- Assists with loading and unloading beer cases at events and account locations.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)
- Routine and frequent exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, vibration, fumes and/or noxious odors, traffic, heights, and other extreme hazards not listed above.
Special Certifications and Licenses
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Reports to: Directly to location Warehouse Management.
