Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Port Everglades. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of advanced mechanical equipment, including telescopic passenger loading bridges and hydraulic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including hydraulic systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues, including programmable logic controllers and motor control circuits.
  • Operate aerial work platforms and perform tasks at high elevations.
  • Maintain accurate records, including time records and daily activity logs.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance work, depending on the area of assignment or closely related experience.
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment, and labor methods commonly employed in repairing, renovating, or reconstructing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods in all weather.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and read control panels and maintenance-related manuals.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License and Transportation Worker Identification card (TWIC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in repair and maintenance of hydraulic equipment, industrial, plant, electrical power, lighting systems, welding, and programmable logic controls.
  • Certified as Industrial Hydraulic Technician (Fluid Power Society).
  • Experience with fiber equipment.
Work Environment

This position involves routine and frequent exposure to traffic and moving machinery. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations is essential.
