Job Summary

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the warehouse and surrounding property. This role involves performing various tasks to ensure the facility is free from dirt, dust, and other debris.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize warehouse and outside areas, adhering to the Master Cleaning Program.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and ensure proper disposal.
  • Clean facility floors using sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming techniques.
  • Operate power equipment and chemical cleaners safely and efficiently.
  • Mix cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and monitor usage.
  • Keep storage areas and carts organized and well-stocked.
  • Clean windows and glass partitions using soapy water or other cleaners.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Operate industrial trucks, carts, or forklifts safely.
  • Perform snow and ice removal, and ice-melt application during inclement weather.
  • Reliable attendance and adherence to safety and security standards.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) year related experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid State Driver's License; Forklift Certification preferred.

Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. The Sanitation Worker must be able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
