Job Title: Automotive Technician

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at McClinton Chevrolet. As a Drivability Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or GM/Mitsubishi standards
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems to specification
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet the company's production and quality standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic)
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are preferred
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

  • 35 guaranteed turned hours every week
  • $5 bonus per hour retroactive back to hour 1 for every hour turned over 35 hours
