Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all essential business functions in the veterinary practice, including revenue growth, expense management, and human resource tasks. The Practice Manager will work in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations and the Managing Doctor to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth through effective business strategies and tactics
  • Manage expenses, including labor, facility costs, and supplies
  • Develop and maintain salary schedules and job evaluations for all employees
  • Provide input on the annual budget and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Triage in-house human resource issues and collaborate with the Heartland Human Resources team
  • Establish and execute performance evaluations for all team members
  • Develop and maintain internal operating procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports
  • Partner with the Managing Doctor to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws, including OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and the Department of Labor
  • Connect with the Heartland RDO to ensure the practice and teams have everything needed to achieve high performance and client satisfaction
  • Participate in business development initiatives to grow the practice
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous management experience in a veterinary practice or related field
  • Previous experience in veterinary medicine is preferred
  • Ability to work on weekends when needed
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Oversee OSHA safety techniques, including the use of proper PPE
  • Computer skills, including MS Office applications
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
