Overview:
The role involves planning and executing a variety of tasks associated with the assembly of different types of fans and their components.
This position requires attention to detail and precision to ensure that all parts are aligned correctly, maintaining the necessary tolerances to achieve high-quality performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Receives and reviews work orders from the Production Supervisor, ensuring all parts are accounted for and accurate.
Manually or with assistance, mounts the motor onto the fan frame, verifying motor shaft alignment using measuring tools.
Manually installs bearings and shafts within the fan housing, checking alignment for belt-driven fans with measuring devices.
Secures bolts in the motor base or bearings using hand tools or power tools, ensuring proper alignment through measurement.Installs the propeller or wheel and/or bushing onto the motor shaft using appropriate tools.
Manually attaches the driven sheave (pulley) on the fan shaft for belt-driven models.
Secures the motor onto its base, tightening bolts with hand tools or power tools. Manually installs the driven sheave onto the motor.
Manually places the belt onto the sheaves and adjusts for optimal tension.
Assists colleagues with the manual positioning of components on larger fans.
Occasionally operates handheld grinders for fitting fan components and accessories.
Embraces and promotes the Hartzell Culture and Values.
Contributes to the company's lean initiatives and assists with Lean projects as necessary.
Adheres to all safety protocols and maintains a clean and safe workspace in accordance with company standards.
Provides support to other departments or performs additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior experience in assembly or hands-on roles is highly recommended.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving tools is advantageous. Strong understanding of blueprint interpretation and excellent mathematical skills are essential.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities are required.
Must frequently lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with lifting primarily from floor to waist level.
Capability for close, distant, and color vision along with good depth perception is necessary.
Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
Ability to read part numbers and instructions provided on worksheets is essential.
Reliability and willingness to work overtime when necessary are expected.
Salary Range: $19.00/hr - $21.50/hr
