Gundersen Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Admission/Referral Coordination Center team. As a Clinical Expert, you will play a critical role in standardizing and facilitating the process of admission/transfer for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a liaison and clinical triage expert between referring providers and accepting physicians, utilizing sound clinical and technical judgment in crisis and emergent situations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to superb customer service by providing prompt, calm, courteous, and professional assistance to our internal and external customers.
- Assign appropriate unit and bed to patient for admission and/or transfer based on patient needs, acuity, level of care factors, and staffing resources.
- Facilitate physician admission orders, verify level of care, and notify receiving unit of admission.
- Manage the electronic bed board and other mechanisms related to patient census, staffing, and capacity indicators.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary care team, internally and externally, as needed to coordinate seamless flow of admission and facilitate an inter-disciplinary approach to patient placement and quality care.
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed minimally in the state of practice.
- Starting pay of $37.08/hour + more for experience.
