We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented substitute custodian to join our team at ESS. As a substitute custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $22-$30 per hour, depending on experience and location. Our competitive compensation package also includes health benefits, weekly pay, and access to a 401(k) plan.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, including floors, windows, furniture, and restrooms
  • Remove trash and recycling, and deliver supplies and materials to designated areas
  • Assist in setup and teardown of decorations and furniture for school events and programs
  • Perform minor repair and maintenance activities, such as bulb replacement and floor buffing
  • Complete grounds keeping duties, including mowing and trimming around the school building
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, stooping, and lifting, up to approximately 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
  • Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
  • Prior janitor/custodian experience preferred
